This Week on Talkin’ Sports

From Jim Shovlin…

We have a full show this week, as we’ll be previewing the IU/Ball State football game with the Journal Gazette’s LaMond Pope, the NotreDame/MSU game as well as the USF/Taylor matchup with The Judge Phil Houk. We’ll also run down the keys to a Boilermaker victory as they face Central Michigan.

We’ll also be joined by Duke Dickson, Senior VP of Business Development for the Canlan Ice Sports Corp, the firm that will be managing the new ice rinks in Fort Wayne, as well as the existing McMillen Arena.

We’ll be recapping Week 5 high school football scores and highlights and previewing Week 6 as we head towards the IHSAA tournament beginning October 24th.

Greg VanMeter of the CABA World Series Champion Summit City Sluggers 13U team will join us, as will Greg Hadden, coach of the St. Joe Little League 11-12 All Star team, which captured the Indiana District 10 title recently.

We’l also be getting our weekly update from Wizards GM Mike Nutter as the Wizards return home Saturday for their biggest homestand of the season (and second to last at Memorial Stadium), as the Wizards host Great Lakes, South Bend (Jared Parker?) and Lansing.

We’ll be chatting with Wizards GM Mike Nutter about the current homestand, upcoming promotions and the Monday return of Ryne Sandberg to Memorial Stadium with his Peoria ballclub.

We also hope to check in with Tim Katzman, Director of Corporate Communications with the San Diego Padres.

We’ll recap local sports news and open the  phone lines for your comments, suggestions, rants and opinions.
