Jersey For Sale! 2 Chances to Score Wizards’ Gear

The Wizards will be wearing different jerseys with a different team name next season. But before they do, you have two chances to grab some unique memorabilia and help two worthy causes in the process.

Throughout the season, Fort Wayne Wizards players and personnel have worn camouflage jerseys in tribute to the U.S. Army. On Saturday, August 9, those jerseys will be auctioned off through a silent bidding process. Opening bids will be $60.00. Visit the special kiosk on the lower concourse of Memorial Stadium during the game to make you run at your favorite player’s jersey. Proceeds will benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which provides scholarships and financial aid for children whose parents are killed in an operational missions or training accident.

On August 15th, The Wizards will don pink jerseys and auction them off to help raise funds for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Last year’s event took in over $3,000. foundation representatives will raffle and auction off the jerseys during the game. Winners will get to meet the players and have their jerseys signed. The Foundation’s Development Ambassador, Heidi Floyd has posted about the event on her blog and plans to post photos of the event. Facebook users can also view the official event invitation here.
