Bonine Staying with Detroit, Valentin Signs With Nats

The Detroit Tigers have announced that former Wizards pitcher, Eddie Bonine has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Toledo. Bonine made his Major League debut this past season but was recently DFA’ed when the Tigers signed Brandon Lyon. He will be invited to Spring Training as a non-roster invitee.
Former Wizards catcher, Javier Valentin has signed a minor league deal with the Washington Nationals. Valentin is a ten year veteran with a .251 average while playing for Minnesota, Tampa Bay and Cincinnati. He appeared in 94 games for the Reds last year
