New Team Names That Did Not Make the Cut

WANE-TV is reporting that:

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  When the owners of the Fort Wayne Wizards minor league baseball team announced plans to move from Memorial Stadium to the Harrison Square complex, they also announced the team would be getting a new name.  The new name and team logo will be unveiled Thursday  morning at 11:00 a.m.

Earlier this year, a Name the Team Contest took place where fans submitted nominations.  More than 2,500 names were turned in.  From those, the winner was picked.

Check back here at wane.com to learn the new name after 11 a.m. Thursday, or watch NewsChannel 15 at noon.

Team management released a top 10 list of names that were amusing and still family friendly that didn’t make the cut.
