Bischoff Earns Big Ten First Team Honors

By Chad Gramling | June 3, 2008

Matt Bischoff, former New Haven High School standout from Decatur and current starting pitcher for Purdue University, has been named to the 2008 Big Ten first team. Bischoff finished the year at 6-3 as the team’s number 1 starter and helped lead the Boilermakers to second place finishes in both the Big Ten regular season and tournament.

Bischoff returned to the all-conference squad in his sophomore season after earning second team All-Big Ten honors as a starting pitcher in 2007, a year that also earned him Freshman of the Year honors. Bischoff was 5-1 on the mound in Big Ten play as the No.1 starter in the Purdue rotation. [Purdue Sports]

Bischoff will spend the summer pitching in the Great Lakes Collegiate Wood Bat League for the Lima Locos.

Special thansk to Dave Bischoff for sending along this news.
